Zippy is a Jewish immigrant girl moving to America. Her whole family is moving there, and Zippy isn't too happy about it. People laugh at her, she gets stuck in a class for small children, and making friends is not easy. Zippy realizes she needs to make changes, and make some that her family might not agree with. Zippy is a nice girl who just wants to fit in and find something she loves to do. She really cares about her family, is determined about learning English, and overall is a likeable character. The story is a nice one, with a ending that you wont want to stop reading.
