This book is simply essential. How can we even graduate our children (in the US) without knowing the Latin American thinkers as well? They have a beautiful vision of the Americas that deserve being told. But, this book also shows the ugly side, the racists, the obstructionists, and the imperialists who were in the way and left their impact on American history as well. Definitely worth sitting down and reading. I had to buy it for my course but I found myself reading other writings and still quoting it 2 years later.
