I am familiar with the writings of the author of this book - Don Durrett, as I have read a selection of his previous publications. I have been consistently impressed of Mr. Durrett's well researched knowledge of the subject matters presented in his writings, each of his previous books have been fascinating and educational. His current release, America's Political Cold War may be his best to date. I particularly like, from a non political party affiliated stance, he skewers the entrenched political class without being beholden to any political party or philosophy, and does it concisely, without any requisite syncophant positioning seen much too often in these challenging days. The material in the book is straight forward and to the point, for me, is refreshing and which I very much appreciate. The only drawback of the book, for me, is I wish it would have been longer, but there again, it's not a book filled with flowery prose or "word salads" seen and spoke way too often today. It gets the point and stays there, and means what it says. I enjoyed reading it and certainly look forward to future books by this author.
