The Silver Dragon started in 1978 and became known for originality and quality.Most of the designs were created by my husband, who had both an eye for detail and the expert ability to use carving tools to bring his designs to life. His skill in creating jewelry models and the high level of the workmanship involved with creating each piece of jewelry created a highly regarded brand known for excellence. He passed away from cancer in 1996, but his spirit lives on in his designs that are still sought after today. A great deal has changed in those 35 years. When The Silver Dragon started, the internet did not exist. We built our success by word of mouth. With the advent of the Internet, the business model changed. I recognized the opportunity to really create jewelry that was individual to each customer.In 2005 The Silver Dragon became solely an Internet Retailer. Jewelry is created FOR each customer, and is not simply drawn from stock. The internet allows customers to select their favorite gemstone, their favorite pieces of jewelry and, for rings, and their perfect size. Then, when an order is placed the jewelry is custom –made for the buyer- creating a unique piece of wearable art that is going to last for many years. Customers, who have made a purchase 10 or even 20 years ago, often come back. Some never lost track of The Silver Dragon, others are just silly- happy when they spot the familiar logo on the internet. They report that they are still in love with their jewelry and still get compliments.
